S.M.A.R.T. Goal Setting

January 17, 2018

New year, new you, right? Well, the statistics would overwhelmingly argue against this, and to be honest, I'd agree that the odds are generally stacked against each one of us when it comes to achieving our goals. Whether this be in business, our personal lives, or in the gym, living up to goals that we set for ourselves can be pretty damn hard! Sometimes we set massive, unachievable dreams that just aren't realistic. Other times, we come up with a goal that is so far in the future or so nebulous in its character that who would even know if we got there? I can hear you now: "So what, Doc? Am I just supposed to quit? Is it even worth it?" Hell yeah it is! As far as I'm concerned, if you're not moving forward, you're moving backwards. What's the point of being on this planet if you aren't going to be growing (or shrinking if you're in a cutting phase, but you know what I mean)? And there is a great, evidence-based way to move forwards and have a much better shot at crushing your goals:

S.M.A.R.T. goal setting. This acronym stands for Specific, Measurable, Attainable, Relevant, and Time-bound, and that's what I discuss in my most recent Meathead Minute! Head over to YouTube or Facebook, check out the video, and let me know what you think! Good luck with those 2018 #goals!
